Amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium belong to semi synthetic penicillin, with the main component being amoxicillin and the sensitizer clavulanate, which mainly maintains the stability of penicillin. At present, the main reason for the decrease in the effect of penicillin is the degradation of penicillin by beta lactamase, which causes the drug to degrade before reaching the lesion. The sensitization effect of potassium clavulanate mainly lies in antagonizing beta lactamase, which prevents beta lactamase from directly degrading penicillin. The drug is mainly used to treat infectious diseases such as streptococcal infection, lobar pneumonia, etc. The use of penicillin allergy patients should be avoided.
