Sulbactam Sodium for Injection
Sulbactam Sodium for injection is used in combination with penicillins or cephalosporins for the treatment of urinary tract infection, pulmonary infection, bronchial infection, ENT infection, abdominal and pelvic infection, biliary tract infection, septicemia, skin and soft tissue infection caused by sensitive bacteria.
This product is a semi synthetic β - lactamase inhibitor. It has strong antibacterial activity against Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Neisseria meningitidis and Acinetobacter calcium acetate, but it has a very strong irreversible competitive inhibitory effect on β - lactamases produced by Staphylococcus aureus and most Gram-negative bacteria. 2 mg / L inhibited Richmond class II, III, IV and V β - lactamases strongly, but not to type I β - lactamases. When combined with penicillins and cephalosporins, the MIC of Staphylococcus aureus, Haemophilus influenzae, Escherichia coli and Bacteroides fragilis, which are resistant to the first two antibiotics due to enzyme production, were reduced to the sensitive range when used with penicillins and cephalosporins.
The product has strong affinity to Proteus mirabilis PBP1 and Acinetobacter calcium acetate pbp2.
