(Fortified)Procaine Penicillin and Penicillin Sodium for Injection
This product is procaine salt of penicillin, and its antibacterial active component is penicillin. Penicillin has good antibacterial activity against Streptococcus haemolyticus, Streptococcus pneumoniae and Staphylococcus which does not produce penicillinase. Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Neisseria meningitidis, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Bacillus anthracis, actinomycetes bovis, Streptococcus moniliformis, Listeria, leptospira and Treponema pallidum were sensitive to this drug. It also has antibacterial activity against Haemophilus influenzae and Bordetella pertussis. This product has good antibacterial effect on Clostridium, Streptococcus peptidans and Bacillus melanogenes, but poor antibacterial effect on Bacteroides fragilis. Penicillin has bactericidal effect by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell wall.
