Product Description

Indications

Suitable for respiratory infections, gastrointestinal infections, urinary tract infections, soft tissue infections, endocarditis, meningitis, sepsis, etc. caused by sensitive bacteria.

Usage and dosage

1. Adults

(1) The dosage of intramuscular injection is 2-4g per day, administered in 4 doses.

(2) Intravenous administration, dosage 4-12g per day, divided into 2-4 times, with a maximum daily dose of 14g.

(3) Oral administration, 1-2 g per day, taken in 4 doses.

2. Children

(1) Intramuscular injection, with a dose of 50-100mg/kg per day, administered in 4 doses.

(2) Intravenous administration, with a dose of 100-200mg/kg per day, administered in 2-4 doses, with a maximum daily dose of 300mg/kg.

(3) Oral administration, dosage 25mg/kg, 2-4 times daily.

3. Newborns: full-term infants with a dose of 12.5-500mg/kg each time; Once every 12 hours for the first 48 hours after birth; Every 8 hours from the 3rd day to the 2nd week, and every 6 hours thereafter. Not recommended for oral administration.

4. Patients with renal dysfunction and advanced renal failure: The half-life of ampicillin can be extended from 1.5 hours in normal individuals to 7-20 hours. Therefore, the administration interval of ampicillin should be extended to 6-12 hours and 12-16 hours respectively, or 0.5g per day, when the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) is 10-15 mL/min and less than 10 mL/min.
