Ketoprofen is a chemical substance that appears as a white crystalline powder; Odorless or almost odorless. Highly soluble in methanol, easily soluble in ethanol, acetone or ether, and almost insoluble in water. The melting point is about 93-96 ºC. It is an aromatic alkanoate compound. It has analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic effects. The anti-inflammatory effect is stronger than ibuprofen, with fewer side effects and lower toxicity. Oral administration is easily absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. After one administration, the plasma peak concentration can be reached within approximately 0.5 to 2 hours. T 1/2 is 1.6-1.9 hours. It has a strong binding affinity with plasma proteins in the blood. The excretion rate in urine within 24 hours is 30% to 90%. Mainly excreted in the form of glucuronic acid conjugates. Used for rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and gout.
