Gentamycin Sulfate Injection
This product is aminoglycoside antibiotic. It has good antibacterial effect on all kinds of gram negative bacteria and gram positive bacteria, and has good antibacterial effect on various Enterobacteriaceae bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, proteus, Salmonella, Shigella, enterobacter, Serratia and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Neisseria and Haemophilus influenzae were moderately sensitive. It also has certain effect on Brucella, Yersinia pestis, Acinetobacter and Campylobacter foetus. About 80% of the methicillin sensitive strains of Staphylococcus (including Staphylococcus aureus and coagulase negative Staphylococcus) had good antibacterial effect, but most of the methicillin resistant strains were resistant to the drug. However, most of enterococci were resistant to this drug. When this product is combined with β - lactams, most of them can obtain synergistic antibacterial effect. The mechanism of action of this product is to inhibit the synthesis of bacterial protein by binding with bacterial ribosomal 30S subunit. In recent years, gentamicin resistant strains of gram-negative bacilli increased significantly.
